On 16th –17th June 2016, IUVENTA Slovakia, the country’s largest youth organisation, held a nationwide conference of NGO representatives and youth and social workers as a reaction to the results of the parliamentary elections in March 2016.

EFS project lead Harald Weilnböck of Cultures Interactive e.V. delivered a keynote speech at the conference and was invited to a meeting with the President of the Slovak Republic, where he introduced the main ideas of the joint cooperation of EFS partners as well as a concept for a presidential youth work initiative on a national scale.

In addition, IUVENTA invited Radka Vicenová, the Slovak coordinator of the EFS project to participate in a panel discussion on the current challenges in terms of increasing support for violent extremist thought and behaviour. Radoslav Sloboda, one of the Slovak EFS trainers, led a workshop on successful initiatives with combating these dangerous trends based on his experience from the EFS project and community organising in Banská Bystrica.
